Illinois Rocstar Awarded $1M DOE Phase II SBIR to Develop Computational Chemistry Dataset Storage Solution

Illinois Rocstar has been awarded a DOE Phase II SBIR project entitled, “The Chemlab Chemistry and Materials Science Lifecycle Data Repository.” The Chemlab project is designed to not only provide a place for scientists and engineers to archive and document their simulation datasets, including provenance information and output data, but to offer a location to share and find datasets again later.

Phase I DOE SBIR Received for GUI Development and Workflow Management for CFD/SAS Coupling

Illinois Rocstar has been awarded a new DOE SBIR contract entitled, “GUI Development and Workflow Management for CFD/SAS Coupling.” The goal of this project is to develop innovative software tools and numerical methods to support the US Department of Energy’s Nuclear Energy Advanced Modeling and Simulation (NEAMS) efforts towards improved simulation of sodium cooled fast reactors (SFRs).

Illinois Rocstar Announces a New DOE SBIR Phase I Project, NEMoSys: A Platform for Autonomous Mesh Refinement and Solution Verification

Nuclear reactors, whether Light Water Reactors (LWRs) or liquid metal cooled fast reactors, are complex machines requiring detailed design in complex multiphysics scenarios. Modeling and simulation (M&S) are key elements in the design and advanced safety modeling of nuclear reactors. In this Phase I SBIR project, Illinois Rocstar plans to extend our NEMoSys meshing package to support autonomous adaptive mesh refinement and solution verification to better serve the needs of the nuclear energy M&S community.
